Heating Grants Eco4/BUS

Horizon Renewables

UK New Heating System Grants

All Horizon Renewables heating grants cover the full cost of the heating installation.
First time central heating (FTCH)
The ECO4 Scheme provides First Time Central Heating Grants (FTCH) with the primary aim of alleviating Fuel Poverty. By transitioning properties from electric or other off-gas heating sources to central heating, carbon emissions can be reduced, which aligns with the government’s pledge to decrease emissions in the UK. This change can also increase the efficiency of homes and create a more comfortable living environment.
BUS grants (boiler upgrade scheme)

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK Government initiative offering up to £9,000 off the installation of low-carbon heating systems in England and Wales.

It helps homeowners and small businesses replace fossil fuel heating (gas, oil, or electric) with greener alternatives.

Current Grant Amounts£7,500 towards air-to-water or ground source heat pumps.

Up to £9,000 for air-to-water heat pumps for properties that rely on heating oil or LPG.

£5,000 towards biomass boilers.£2,500 for air-to-air heat pumps (residential only).

Eligibility To qualify for the scheme, your project must meet the following criteria:Your property must be located in England or Wales.

The new low-carbon system must replace an existing fossil fuel or electric heating system (it cannot replace an existing low-carbon system).

The installation must be carried out by a MCS-certified installer.

HHR Electric storage heaters (ESH)
If your property is heated using Electric Panel Heaters or outdated and malfunctioning Electric Storage Heaters, then you may qualify for an upgrade to new, state-of-the-art High Heat Retention Electric Storage Heaters through the ECO Scheme. By utilizing mainly off-peak energy, it is anticipated that 90% of your heating requirements can be met using low-cost energy, which could result in savings of up to 27% when compared to a standard storage heater system* and up to 47% when compared to an electric convector or radiator system. One of the main benefits of heating grants is that they make it easier for people to receive free energy-efficient measures that can improve the comfort and sustainability of their homes. This is particularly important for low-income households, where energy bills can be a significant financial burden. Heating grants can help to alleviate this burden by providing financial assistance for energy-efficient upgrades that can significantly reduce heating bills.
